The Berlioz Weekend at the Artworkers

 Guild, London, 28th - 29th November, 2009

The Master's Room hosted buffet lunches, also coffee and biscuits, morning and afternoon.

 

The Berlioz Society's chairman, David Cairns CBE, reviewing conductors of Berlioz's music, from the composer to the present day.

Mr Adrian Brown spoke on "How the conductor gets 
his way - and what he must  aim for".
 
M. Geoffrey Jubault spoke on "The arrangement of 
Berlioz's music for the guitar".

Mr. David Alberman (Principal Second Violin, London Symphony Orchestra) gave "The Orchestral Musicians Perspective".

 

 

Kathryn Harries, Director of the National Opera Studio, gave a Masterclass in singing Berlioz's roles
 

with Sara Gonzales-Saavedra, who is studying at the 
National Opera Studio, accompanied by Ouri Bronchti.
 
 

The Keynote address by Professor Emeritus David Charlton.

 

Mr. Terry Barfoot of the Arts in Residence organisation
spoke on "Interpretations of "Les Nuits d'été"
 
 

Mr. Alan Woodbridge, Chef des Choeurs, Opera de Lyon, spoke on "The choir matters!"

Lord Aberdare DLL, Hon. Treasurer of The Berlioz Society
