The Berlioz Weekend at the Artworkers

 Guild, London, 27th - 28th November, 2010

 

Professor Anne Green speaking on
"Shakespeare and French Romanticism"
Harold Hughes introduces the Chairman of the
Berlioz Society, David Cairns, who -

gave an overview on "Shakespeare's inspirations 
and influences on Berlioz"

In the Great Hall where the presentations took place

Harold Hughes introduces Richard Digby Day whose -

talk was entitled "A short history of Shakespearen
productions, especially those of Berlioz's time".
Professor Hugh MacDonald gave an introduction to
a performance of "Lelio". 
 

M. Damblant as Lelio, in pensive mood, and -

 

telling us his story.

 

Dr. John Warrack gave an analysis of 
Berlioz's "Romeo and Juliet".

Mr Peter Raby spoke on
"Harriet Smithson: Voice, gesture and image".
