LONDON PERFORMANCE of the GRANDE MESSE DES MORTS

The Crouch End Festival Chorus will perform Berlioz’s great choral work the Grande Messe des Morts (opus 5),
at the Barbican Hall on the evening of Saturday 9th  October  this year. They have most generously offered
all Members of the Society a 20% discount applying across all ticket prices and, moreover, have reserved a special
block of thirty of the best seats to make sure Members taking them up will hear the performance to its very best effect!
This Chorus, whose great reputation precedes it, sang Berlioz’s Te Deum at the BBC Promenade Concerts
last year, to much acclaim, and this coming October will be joined by the tenor Robert Murray, who is attracting much
current praise, as our Committee Member Martin Price points out in comments on the tenor’s admired contribution in
Handel’s Jephtha for the Godalming Choral Society.

The orchestra next October will be the London Orchestra da Camera, who regularly play for the Chorus, all under the baton of
David Temple, the Chorus's Musical Director.
Tickets go on sale from 4th June through the Barbican Box Office, and to acquire yours at the discounted level you
simply need to confirm to the Box Office that you are a current Member of the Berlioz Society. If you choose the top
price seats and want to be in the first 30 block, you must book by telephone. You will then
automatically be seated in the prime block reserved for us.
Normal prices will be £24/£21/£19/£12.50/£9; the Box Office is on 020 76388891, or a reduced booking fee can be obtained by
online booking on   www.barbican.org.uk
