It has been possible to secure, for Members only, a number of tickets for each of three concerts taking place in 2009 which include, or are wholly of, important Berlioz works. One may well think that 2009 is a long way away, as indeed it is. . But the orchestras in question publicise and release these tickets ever earlier, and without prompt action, tickets quickly become unavailable. The concerts are: Sunday 22 February 2009 7.30 pm Barbican: London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Sir Colin Davis with Richard Goode (piano) and Colin Lee (tenor). Mozart: Piano concerto No 18 K456; Berlioz: Te Deum. Front stalls seats are normally priced at £32 each. Friday 6th March 2009 7.30 pm Royal Festival Hall: London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jan Pascal Tortelier with Simon Trpjeski (piano). Messian: Les Offrandes oubliees; Tchaikovsky: Piano Concert 1; Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique. Front stalls seats are normally priced at £38 each. Tuesday 22 September 2009 7pm Barbican: London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Valery Gergiev with Bernada Fink (Marguerite); Michael Schade (Faust); Thomas Quasthoff (Mephistopheles) and Florian Boesch (Brander). Berlioz: The Damnation of Faust.
